Privacy policy
About this policy
This policy explains which personal data are processed when you visit this website, download our free printables, order from our Etsy shop, buy a book through one of the linked shops or interact with us on Pinterest. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The responsible person and contact details are given at the end of this page.
In short
This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking, no advertising and no contact forms. Fonts and images are served from this website itself, so no third-party services are loaded while you read it.
Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, GitHub processes technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request and your browser type in order to deliver the page and protect the service against abuse. These data may be processed in the USA. Details: GitHub Privacy Statement. We do not receive or store these log data ourselves.
If you write to us by e-mail, we use your address and message only to answer you and delete them when they are no longer needed, unless we must keep them by law.
Shops and links
Our printed books are sold through external shops (for example Lulu or Amazon). A link only takes you there; no data are sent before you click it. When you buy, the shop is responsible for your data under its own privacy policy.
Free printables and sales on Payhip
Our free printables (and any digital products) are delivered by Payhip (Payhip Ltd., United Kingdom). To download, Payhip asks for your e-mail address and, for purchases, processes your order and payment data. Payhip shares the order details (name, e-mail address, product, date and, for purchases, the amount) with us so that the product can be delivered and support given. We use your e-mail address for news only if you ticked the newsletter box; you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every e-mail. See the Payhip privacy policy.
Our Etsy shop
We sell printable coloring pages (digital downloads) in our own shop on Etsy. Etsy runs the marketplace, the checkout and the payment and is responsible for these under its own privacy policy; for users outside the USA usually Etsy Ireland UC, otherwise Etsy, Inc., USA. When you order from our shop, Etsy shares the order details with us (your name, Etsy username, e-mail or delivery address as far as Etsy provides them, the product, date and price). We use them only to fulfil the order, answer your messages, handle refunds and meet our accounting and tax duties, and we keep them only as long as the law requires. We do not send you advertising based on Etsy orders.
To create and update listings in our own shop we may use a small internal tool (an Etsy app). It is used only by us and only for our own Etsy shop: it creates and edits our listings and uploads their images and files. It does not collect data of other Etsy users and shares nothing with third parties; its access token is stored only on our own computer (Windows Credential Manager) and can be revoked at any time in the Etsy account settings.
Pinterest and our Pinterest app
We present our books on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/lanternfoxbooks/). When you use Pinterest, Pinterest's own privacy policy applies.
To publish our own pins we use a small internal tool, the Pinterest app Lanternfox Book Factory. It is used only by us, for our own Pinterest account. With our authorization it reads and creates boards and pins on that account and reads its basic account information. It does not access, collect or store any data of other Pinterest users, and it does not share any data with third parties. The access token is stored only on our own computer (Windows Credential Manager); a local record keeps which of our pins were published, with their Pinterest id and date. Access can be revoked at any time in the Pinterest account settings.
Your rights
You may ask us which personal data we hold about you and request that they be corrected or deleted, object to their processing or receive them in a common format. Write to the e-mail address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch).
Changes
We update this policy when our website or services change. Last updated: 2026-10-24.
